From the highlands of Cappadocia to the Aegean coast and on to Istanbul...

We visited sites which had been built by the Hittites in the Second Millenium BCE. These are the gates of the town wall of Hattusas, which is about 3,500 years old. Note the figure of the lion's head on the right.

The Earth Goddess was worshipped by early pre-Judeo-Christian cultures.

They also worshipped their kings as gods and carved numerous reliefs on the rock walls of their holy-of-holies.
